YouthBuild USA
1988-present
Established one of the highest-performing YouthBuild programs in the country, and delivered “best practices” training to expand and strengthen programs nationally.
• Co-founded a national network of YouthBuild programs, and worked with a team of sites to define high performance standards for the network.

Casa Esperanza
1997-2005
Guided a process of growth planning which doubled the number of clients, dramatically expanded services, created new affordable housing and established a new Family Center.
• Facilitated a comprehensive Strategic Planning process, resulting in an ambitious 5-year expansion plan.
• Recruited and managed a team of consultants to upgrade fiscal systems, computer systems, management information system (MIS), human resource policies and procedures, property management systems.
• Planned the development of a new community center and 15 affordable housing units for families in recovery.

Multicultural AIDS Coalition
1999-present
Guided an organizational change process which resulted in a new, cutting edge HIV programs in Boston’s Black community and a strong partnership between the Board and Senior Management.
• Facilitated comprehensive planning process, resulting in a 5-year Strategic Plan. Conducted an extensive organizational assessment, with face-to-face and phone interviews with dozens of stakeholders.
• Guided a process of program design and evaluation, resulting in outcome-driven programs funded by the Centers for Disease Control and HHS Office of Minority Health. Facilitated collaborative planning for community-based research.
• Conducted Board development and training, resulting in new, comprehensive Board policies.
• Provided training and technical assistance in Strategic Planning for MAC coalition partners in the Greater Roxbury community.

Mass Cultural Council/Cultural Economic Development Program
1999-present
Provided technical assistance to dozens of start-up ventures, resulting in innovative new models for cultural economic development across Massachusetts.
• Guided coalitions of arts organizations, business leaders and government to define a shared vision and goals for cultural economic development in their region.
• Facilitated a process of defining coalition decision-making and clarifying management roles.

Jewish Community Relations Council
1997-2005
Designed two signature social justice programs that, together, engage over 40 Jewish institutions and 1000 adults and young people in community service.
• Conducted extensive stakeholder focus groups, interviews and planning sessions to assess interest and determine best program models.
• Analyzed findings and made recommendations for design and management. Provided guidance in implementation planning.

MassEquality, 2004-present
Helped build the organizational infrastructure that allowed MassEquality to become a major political force in Massachusetts and defeat numerous constitutional amendments to ban gay marriage.
• Spearheaded the formation of MassEquality’s first statewide field structure, convening, mobilizing and training volunteer leaders across the state to lead community-based efforts to persuade legislators.
• Facilitated a challenging governance transition from Coalition Steering Committee to a Board of Directors, designed comprehensive orientation and training for new Board of Directors, and guided the process of revising the by-laws.
• Established the staffing infrastructure, and supported the transition from part-time consultants to full-time employees (benefits, insurance and HR policies).
